Why
NSIS Genetics?
NSIS
has partnered with the leading genetic companies to develop varieties
that provide growers high yields and provide end users the quality
traits they need to be successful. The primary focus in selecting
these genetics is creating value-enhanced grain that not only adds
value to the producer but creates additional revenue for the end user.
In order
to identify the value-enhanced grains that best fit the producers'
and the end users' needs, NSIS has implemented an extensive research
and test pilot program placed strategically throughout the production
regions.
All
of NSIS genetics are exclusive to the participants of the Integrated
Wheat Program and are not available commercially. The producers are
not allowed to sell or hold back these varieties.
Where are the contracts and on what
crops?
NSIS's
core business is in Michigan, however producers have participated
in Illinois, Ohio, Indiana, Montana, and North Dakota.
The
crops have ranged from barley, oats, safflower, and the primary contract
has been in all classes of wheat production.
